Meet the Team: Dave Tucker, Founder & Owner
Every company has a story, and D&D Homes began with one man’s belief that homebuyers deserved better.
Dave Tucker has spent more than 50 years in the construction industry. As a teenager, he worked summers as a framing laborer and roofer, learning firsthand what goes into building a quality home. After serving in the U.S. Army and attending the University of Maryland, Dave built a successful career in lumber sales and management.
It was during those years in the lumber industry that everything changed.
Dave spent countless hours on job sites talking with builders and framers, while also working closely with homebuyers. Seeing both sides of the industry gave him a unique perspective. He realized that too many builders were cutting corners and not delivering the level of quality homeowners deserved. Rather than simply talking about how things could be done better, he decided to prove it.
In 2000, Dave built his own home. That experience confirmed what he already believed, that he could build homes with a higher standard of craftsmanship, quality, and integrity. Three years later, in 2003, he founded D&D Homes.
More than two decades later, D&D Homes has built hundreds of homes across West Tennessee while remaining committed to the same principles that inspired its founding.
In 2025, Dave relocated to Florida to enjoy retirement and pursue new hobbies, but he hasn’t gone far. While he trusts the experienced team leading D&D Homes each day, he remains actively involved behind the scenes. He’s still the visionary, the mentor, and the person helping shape the company’s future. He is always just a phone call away.
His passion for building homes may have started more than 50 years ago, but his vision continues to guide D&D Homes today.
